Atwal's last chance to keep US card
It's
make-or-break for India's Arjun Atwal when he enters his final tournament
of the season on the US PGA Tour, the Chrysler Championship this
week.
Atwal, who has played full time on the US PGA Tour since 2005, is
battling to keep his card with a top-125 finish on the money list.
The Indian star is presently 137th and needs a good finish on Sunday
to avoid a dreaded trip to the Qualifying School.
At present, Atwal has accumulated US$550,535 this season and trails
the 125th ranked Bubba Dickerson by nearly US$100,000.
The 2004 Asian number one has endured a subdued year in America.
In 32 events, he has missed the cut on 16 occasions, many of those
by a single or two strokes. He has only one top-10 this year, a
tied for fourth place at the Buick Invitational at the start of
the year.
The Chrysler Championship is the final full-field event in the US
this season, with the top-30 on the money list qualifying for the
Tour Championship next week.
