New dates for Faldo Series Asia grand final
The
Faldo Series Asia grand final at Mission Hills Golf Club, China
will now be played from 1 – 6 February 2007.
The grand final at Mission Hills, home of the Faldo Series Asia,
has been brought forward by one week to 1 – 6 February following
a change in Nick Faldo’s schedule due to his appointment as leading
golf analyst on the American television network, CBS.
At the Faldo Series Asia grand final, Faldo will host over 60 talented
players from across Asia, male and female aged 11 to 21, including
the winners of Faldo Series Asia championships taking place in seven
different countries and territories during 2006.
As well as competing over 54 holes on the Faldo course at Mission
Hills, the finalists will spend time with the six-time Major winner
as he seeks to pass on his 30 years of experience to the next generation
of champions. Faldo will also invite the leading finalists to play
in the 2007 final of the European Faldo Series at The Celtic Manor
Resort in Wales, the Ryder Cup venue in 2010.
The Faldo Series Asia is supported by Mission Hills, The R&A and
UBS. As well as providing talented young golfers with a unique combination
of tournament experience and expert advice, it also aims to provide
access to the game for a younger audience. As such, children from
local schools and communities will be invited to the grand final
to experience golf, many for the first time, as participants and
spectators under Faldo’s guidance.
