Li leaps to second on Omega Order of Merit
Li
Chao's sensational victory in the Omega China Tour Shandong
Leg has leapfrogged him up to second place in the Omega Order of
Merit. The 26-year-old's dramatic recovery (he was four shots behind
Yuan Hao with four holes to play) took his pre-tax earnings for
the tour this year to RMB222,000.
Zhang Lianwei still leads the standings thanks to his final day
charge. Zhang, who won the Zhuhai Leg and finished second in Hainan,
shot the best round of the tournament at the Tiger Beach Golf Links
a four-under-par 68 to finish in third place, earning
RMB50,000 of the RMB800,000 prize pool and taking his Omega China
Tour total up to RMB290,000.
Shandong Leg runner-up Yuan Hao is now in fourth place in the standings,
just behind Hainan Leg winner Liang Wenchong.
The other big movers in the Omega Order of Merit were Huang Mingjie
and 2005 Kunming Leg winner Qiu Zhifeng. They both jumped into the
top 10 after sharing fourth place in Shandong.
