Thongchai's closing 69 is good for joint 12th

Thai star Thongchai Jaidee fired a two-under-par 69 as he finished in joint 12th position in the final round at the Barclays Scottish Open on Sunday.

The 37-year-old, who is ranked fifth on the Asian Tour’s UBS Order of Merit, shot five birdies against three bogeys at the Loch Lomond Golf Club for an eighth-under-par total of 276. He was in tied 12th spot alongside Englishman Kenneth Ferrie.

Thongchai was five strokes behind Johan Edfors of Sweden who lifted the title after a final round of 63.

England’s Simon Dyson, the Enjoy Jakarta HSBC Indonesia Open winner, stumbled to a 75 on the final day as he ended the tournament in tied 54th position.

A stroke adrift the Englishman was India’s Shiv Kapur who carded his second consecutive 72 in the fourth round. Kapur finished in joint 60th spot alongside local talent Raymond Russell. After qualifying in April, the Indian youngster will now be making his first ever appearance at The Open this week.
