TAT to sponsor Thailand Ladies Open
The
Tourism Authority of Thailand will be the title sponsor for the
2007 Thailand Ladies Open, scheduled to be held from March 7-9 at
Green Valley Country Club
TAT Thailand Ladies Open is the third leg of the Ladies Asian Golf
Tour that starts next week with the US$80,000 Macau Ladies Open
from January 24-26 at Macau Golf and Country Club. The Tour then
moves over to Hong Kong for the US$80,000 Hong Kong Ladies Masters
from January 31 - February 2 at Discovery Bay Golf Club.
The TAT Thailand Ladies Open offers US$100,000 as prize money plus
US$10,000 for the Pro-Am Tournament on March 6. The US$100,000 DLF
India Women's Open, a new tournament in the LAGT 2007 calendar,
is the fourth stop on the Tour. It will be held in New Delhi from
March 14-16.
True to the old adage 'save the best for last', LAGT signs off
its 2007 season with the biggest tournament yet - The Asia Miles-Binhai
Ladies Open - which also offers the biggest purse of US$230,000.
The tournament is tri-sanctioned by LAGT, China Golf Association
and Korea LPGA.
With February 4 the deadline for entries, the Thailand Ladies Golf
Association (TALGA) has received over 90 entries thus far for the
TAT Thailand Ladies Open. THALGA is confident that the tournament
will attract a full field of 132 players before the deadline.
Defending champion Park Hee Young, who lifted the H.R.H. Princess
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Trophy at Pattana Golf Club last year, will
be back to defend her title.
Among the others who are lending support to the TAT Thailand Ladies
Open are Panasonic-Siew Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., Boon Rawd Brewery
Co. Ltd., Green Valley Country Club, UBC, Royal Princess Srinalarin
Hotel and Tigress Trading.
This year's five leg LAGT is offering in total US$600,000 in prize
purse, which is 30% more than the inaugural season last year.
