Jeev now ranked 57th in the world
Indias
Jeev Milkha Singh is enjoying steady form as he is ranked 57th on
the Official World Golf Ranking after the BMW International Open
on Sunday.
Singh, last years Asian Tours UBS Order of Merit winner,
delivered a consistent run and finished in joint 18th spot in Munich.
He had a strong outing at the US Open a week before when he claimed
tied 36th place, his best result in a Major so far.
Compatriot Jyoti Randhawa solidified his position in the rankings
when he finished in joint 11th spot in Germany. Randahwa, the former
Asian number one, was a spot above Chinas Liang Wen-chong
who is ranked 83rd in the world. Liang, who leads the UBS Order
of Merit, settled for a share of 13th place at the Mizuno Open Yomiuri
Classic last week.
Koreas Choi Kyung-ju, who won his fifth US PGA Tour title
at the Memorial Tournament earlier in the month, is the highest
ranked Asian in 20th place. Yang Yong-eun of Korea was in 66th position
while Englishman Simon Dyson stood at 78th spot.
The other Asian stalwarts ranked in the top-200 include Thongchai
Jaidee of Thailand in 89th place, South African Anton Haig (114th),
Australias Andrew Buckle (119th), Kevin Na (131st), Thailands
Prayad Marksaeng (141st), former Asian Tour regular Daniel Chopra
(146th), Indian talent Gaurav Ghei (154th), Koreas Hur Suk-ho
(167th), Filipino legend Frankie Minoza (171st), Thai youngster
Prom Meesawat (183rd) and compatriot Chapchai Nirat (187th) and
Simon Yates in 200th position.
