KJ Choi up to world number 13

Choi Kyung-ju has shot up to 13th place on the Official World Golf Ranking following his win at the AT&T National in the United States on Sunday.

The Asian Tour graduate sealed a sixth victory in America by three strokes from Steve Stricker and enjoyed a jump of seven positions on the ranking. Choi is the highest ranked Asian on the list headed by world number one Tiger Woods.

India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, last year’s UBS Order of Merit champion, is ranked 56th followed by Korea’s Yang Yong-eun in 68th position. India’s Jyoti Randhawa is 83rd, followed by current UBS Order of Merit leader Liang Wen-chong of China in 85th spot and England’s Simon Dyson who is a further rung below.

Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee will start the week in 97th place.

Other Asian Tour members ranked inside the world’s top-200 include Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand (122nd), South African Anton Haig (123rd), Andrew Buckle of Australia (125th), India’s Gaurav Ghei (161st), Filipino Frankie Minoza (182nd), Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat (190th)
