13 Asian Tour members in world top 200
A
total of 13 Asian Tour members presently feature in the top 200
of the Official World Golf Ranking.
Korean star Choi Kyung-ju, known better as KJ, is the highest ranked
Asian at 12th on the list headed by world number one Tiger Woods
of the United States. Choi recently enjoyed a career first top-10
in the British Open.
Indias Jeev Milkha Singh, the Asian Tours UBS Order
of Merit champion last season, is ranked 63rd on the latest list
issued on Monday.
Another Korean, Yang Yong-eun, is further down the ranking in 79th
place while Englands Simon Dyson is 89th in the world, followed
closely by Indias Jyoti Randhawa a rung below.
Chinese star Liang Wen-chong, the UBS Order of Merit leader, is
93rd in the world and he has a chance to improve on his standing
as he will compete in this weeks WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
in the US.
South African Anton Haig is 129th, followed by Prayad Marksaeng
of Thailand a rung below. Australian Andrew Buckle, who now plays
on the US Tour, is 148th. The other Asian Tour members ranked in
the top-200 are Koreas Charlie Wi (169th), Indias Gaurav
Ghei (173rd), Prom Meesawat of Thailand (175th), Filipino Frankie
Minoza (186th) and Hur Suk-ho of Korea (194th).
