14 Asian Tour members in world top 200
A total of 14 Asian Tour members are presently ranked in the top-200 of the Official World Golf Ranking, with Korea’s Choi Kyung-ju being the highest placed Asian at 10th position.
Jeev Milkha Singh of India, last season’s Asian Tour’s UBS Order of Merit champion is ranked 80th in the world, having slipped from 37th place at the start of the 2007 season.
Compatriot Jyoti Randhawa, who claimed a third Hero Honda Indian Open title in October, is ranked in 91st place while Korea’s Yang Yong-eun and China’s Liang Wen-chong, presently leading the UBS Order of Merit, are placed at 97th and 98th position respectively.
England’s Simon Dyson is ranked 66th in the world.
Thailand's Chapchai Nirat has broken into the top 200 with last weekend's victory at the Hana Bank Vietnam Masters, surging 54 places up the ranking from 207th to 153rd.
The other Asian Tour members who are ranked in the top-200 are Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand (109th), Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand (116th), Chinese Taipei’s Lu Wen-teh (138th), Scotland’s Simon Yates (162nd), Filipino Frankie Minoza (168th), Korea’s Charlie Wi (174th), Prom Meesawat of Thailand (176th) and Lin Wen-tang of Chinese Taipei (179th).
