19 Asian Tour members in world top 200
China's
Liang Wen-chong is amongst 19 Asian Tour members who are featuring
prominently in the top-200 of the latest Official World Golf Ranking.
Liang secured his maiden title in Asia with a play-off triumph at
the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters at the weekend and moved up to
78th in the world, a jump of 40 places from the previous week.
Malaysia's Iain Steel also broke through into the world's top-200
with his runner-up finish in Singapore, moving into 191st position.
Korea's Choi Kyung-ju, who plies his trade on the US PGA Tour and
recorded his third top-10 of the season on Sunday, is the highest
ranked Asian at 21st place on the rankings.
Compatriot Yang Yong-eun, famed for beating Tiger Woods in the HSBC
Champions in Shanghai last November, is 38th in the world, followed
by last year's UBS Order of Merit winner Jeev Milkha Singh of India
who is 46th.
Yang, Choi and Singh will feature in the US Masters at Augusta
National Golf Club next month.
England's Simon Dyson, fourth on the UBS Order of Merit, is 70th
in the world, followed by Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand who is two
rungs below. India's Jyoti Randhawa is ranked 86th.
The other Asian Tour members in the top-200 include Andrew Buckle
of Australia (89th), South African Anton Haig (92nd), Hur Suk-ho
of Korea (114th), Frankie Minoza of Philippines (130th), Thailand's
Prom Meesawat (158th), Korea's Charlie Wi (166th), India's Shiv
Kapur (169th), Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng (175th), Thailand's Thaworn
Wiratchant (190th), Jarrod Lyle of Australia (192nd), American Edward
Loar (196th) and Thailand's Chinarat Phadungsil (199th).
