18 Asian Tour members in World Top 200
A
total of 18 Asian Tour members are featuring in the top-200 of the
Official World Golf Ranking this week.
India's Gaurav Ghei, who secured his third title last week at the
inaugural Pine Valley Beijing Open, was the latest member to join
the exclusive club when he moved up to 155th place after starting
the season in 229th position.
Compatriot Jyoti Randhawa rose to 74th place after finishing second
in the Spanish Open on Sunday and he will be pushing hard to break
into the world's top-50 which will provide starts in the majors
and World Golf Championships events.
The highest ranked Asian Tour member on the ranking is Korea's Yang
Yong-eun at 53rd place, followed by India's Jeev Milkha Singh, last
year's Asian Tour's UBS Order of Merit champion, in 54th position.
Choi Kyung-ju of Korea, who plies his trade on the US PGA Tour,
is the highest ranked Asian on the world ranking at 30th position.
Other Asian Tour members in the top-200 include Simon Dyson of England
(70th), Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand (82nd), China's Liang Wen-chong
(83rd), South African Anton Haig ((94th), Australian Andrew Buckle
(97th), Filipino veteran Frankie Minoza (137th), Thailand's Prayad
Marksaeng (148th), Thailand's Chapchai Nirat (169th), Thailand's
Prom Meesawat (174th), Korea's Charlie Wi (184th), Thaworn Wiratchant
of Thailand (187th), India's Shiv Kapur (188th), Jarrod Lyle of
Australia (193rd), and Malaysia's Iain Steel (196th).
