Choi & Chopra well placed at Houston halfway
Choi
Kyung-ju of Korea remained steady when he shot his second straight
two-under-par 70 and rose to tied 10th position alongside Swedens
Daniel Chopra at the Shell Houston Open on Friday.
Choi, who had delivered three top-10 finishes on the US PGA Tour
this season, continued his impressive run in Texas with three birdies
against a lone bogey while Chopra was even-par for the day at the
Redstone Golf Club.
After a 140 total, the duo were two strokes behind Americans Bob
Estes, Jason Gore, D.J Brigman, Jeff Maggert, Bubba Watson and Australias
Stuart Appleby who were all tied at the top of the leaderboard.
Indias Jeev Milkha Singh narrowly made the cut when he was
even-par for the day in joint 68th place for a 145 total.
On the European Tour, overnight leader Simon Dyson slipped in the
second round as he was in tied 13th place at the Estoril Open de
Portugal.
Dyson, winner of four Asian Tour titles, was five strokes adrift
compatriot and leader Ross McGowan who shot his second straight
68 for a 136 total at the Quinta da Marinha Oitavos Golfe.
Asian Tours Anton Haig of South Africa and Australias
Terry Pilkadaris had both carded matching 74s in the second round
as they missed the cut.
