Jeev heads to Jack's tournament full of confidence
Asian Tour number one Jeev Milkha Singh takes a crack at the Memorial
Tournament on the US PGA Tour starting on Thursday with his confidence
boosted after a strong weekend in England.
The Indian star, last year's UBS Order of Merit champion, makes
his debut in the tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus in Ohio where
the world's best players are assembled this week.
Last week, Singh produced one of his best performances of the season
with a tied 12th finish at the BMW PGA Championship, the flagship
tournament on the European Tour. He was in contention during the
final round but slipped back on the back nine.
Still, his performance has given him a huge dose of confidence as
he heads into a busy time of the year where Singh will play in the
US Open next month and also make his debut at the British Open in
July.
Singh has played twice in the US Open previously and successfully
made the cut on both occasions and after his strong showing in his
US Masters debut where he finished tied 37th in April, the Indian
will be looking to impress further on the global stage.
Last season, Singh produced a stellar year by winning four titles
around the world and ended the season as Asia's number one.
Joining Singh in the Memorial Tournament this week is Korea's Yang
Yong-eun, who triumphed twice in Asia last season. Yang missed the
cut last weekend in England and will be eager to redeem himself
in the US.
