Na holds on to 5th, but Yang and Singh miss cut

Korea’s Kevin Na remained in the leading fray at the Verizon Heritage after a three-under-par 68 in the second round on Friday.

The 22-year-old Korean shot six birdies against three bogeys for a seven-under-par 135 total in tied fifth position alongside American Sean O’Hair at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Compatriot Yang Yong-eun, the HSBC Champions winner, carded a 72 but missed the cut and it was similar for India’s Jeev Milkha Singh who scored a 74 for a 145 total.

Na delivered another solid round when he nailed three birdies on the back nine and with three more birdies against an equal number of bogeys on the last nine holes, he was five strokes behind leader Ernie Els of South Africa who shot his second straight 65.

On the Nationwide Tour, India’s Arjun Atwal carded a 73 and slid to tied 42nd place at the South Georgia Classic. Australian youngster Jarrod Lyle missed the mark when he shot a 75 in the second round.
