Choi drops back in Hawaii
Koreas Choi Kyung-ju fell off from the lead at the Mercedes
Benz Championship on Friday, shooting a four-over-par 77 on a wind-swept
day in Hawaii.
After an opening 69 which gave him a share of the first day lead,
Choi was amongst those who faced the brunt of poor weather and failed
to put in a score to keep himself at the top of the leaderboard.
His two-day total of 146 saw him slip back to eight shots off the
pace led by Fijian Vijay Singh, who added a second straight 69.
He leads by one from South African Trevor Immelman and Will Mackenzie
of the United States in what is the season-opening event on the
US PGA Tour. A total of 34 players are competing in the winners-only
tournament.
