Choi lying tied 12th at Memorial halfway
Korea's Choi Kyung-ju stayed on track for another good finish in
America when he fired a two-under-par 70 for tied 12th place at
the halfway stage of The Memorial Tournament on Friday.
The Asian stalwart has a two-day total of 139, seven shots behind
reigning Barclays Singapore Open champion Adam Scott of Australia.
Scott shot up the leaderboard with a superb 62.
Sweden's Daniel Chopra, a one-time winner in Asia, was tied 41st
after rounds of 71 and 72 but it was the end of the road for Korea's
Yang Yong-eun and India's Jeev Milkha Singh who missed the halfway
cut.
In the LaSalle Bank Open, India's Arjun Atwal moved up to tied
11th place after a 66 in the second round. His two-day total of
137 is four shots behind leader Omar Uresti.
In the Celtic Manor Wales Open, South African James Kingston was
in equal 24th place after a second round 68. Singaporean number
one Mardan Mamat shot a superb 64 to move into a share of 32nd position
on 135 alongside Asian Tour colleagues Anton Haig of South Africa,
who carded a 67, and India's Jyoti Randhawa, who shot a 66.
Australian David Bransdon was a further shot back while India's
Shiv Kapur made the cut after a 69 for a 137 total.
Sweden's Mads Vibe-Hastrup lead the tournament on 130.
In the JCB Classic in Japan, Chinese Taipei's Lin Keng-chi, Asian
number one in 1995, was in tied 27th place at the halfway stage
after a second round 69 for a 139 total. Tomohiro Kondo and Tetsuji
Hiratsuka lead on 134.
Hur Suk-ho of Korea was a further shot back after a 68.
