Randhawa shoots 68 for tied seventh in France

India’s Jyoti Randhawa enjoyed a strong finish at the Open de Alstom after firing a three-under-par 68 in the final round on Sunday.

Randhawa, a former Asian number one, delivered a four-day total of four-under-par 280 and finished three strokes behind champion Graeme Storm of England. The Indian stalwart had last claimed a top-10 result in Europe at the Open de Espana in April where he took the runner-up spot.

The 35-year-old Randhawa shot seven birdies against two dropped shots and a double bogey as he ended his campaign ahead of compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh who stumbled to a 73 in joint 12th place.

On the US PGA Tour, Korea’s Charlie Wi carded a 69 for a 277 total and claimed tied 16th position. In joint 34th place was Kevin Na who was even-par for the day with a similar result by Sweden’s Daniel Chopra who took tied 49th spot.

Arjun Atwal shot a steady 72 as he was in tied 70th place.
