Horne and Pilkadaris in contention for Open berths

Asian Tour members Terry Pilkadaris of Australia and South African Keith Horne are in the running to qualify for The Open Championship after enjoying solid starts in the International Final Qualifying here on Tuesday.

Pilkadaris, who finished in the top-10 at the inaugural Joburg Open at the weekend, fired a five-under-par 67 for tied fourth place, one stroke behind co-leaders Tyrone van Aswegen of South Africa, Brazilian Adilson da Silva and Doug McGuigan of Scotland.

The top four finishers after two rounds at the Royal Johnnesburg and Kensington Golf Club will qualify for The Open at Carnoustie in Scotland in July.

Horne, tied 12th last week, continued to show some fine form with a 69 which kept him within touching distance of the leaders.
