More about the Shanghai Silport Golf Club
The
Shanghai Silport Golf Club is one of the most reputable golf clubs
in China. Players will be pampered with top class facilities and
services that include the Spanish hacienda style clubhouse, VIP
suites, meeting rooms, function rooms, jacuzzi and steam sauna.
The Shanghai Silport Golf Club has won numerous awards including
the Best Club Service in 1999 and 2000 and rated as
Chinas Top Ten Golf Club in 2001, 2003 and 2004.
The club hosted the Volvo China Open from 1999 to 2004. It was voted
best venue two times in three years by the players on the Asian
Tour as will be taking centre stage once again this year.
The course, designed by former US PGA Tour pro Bobby J. Martin,
has a wonderful landscape with tall trees and beautiful lakes. It
has a unique feature with the presence of 36 Ming and Qing dynasty
sculptures found around the course and acting as guardians for the
players.
The Shanghai Silport Golf Club has expanded to 36 holes in 2006
with the creation of its new nine-hole North Course designed by
American Roger Packard.
