Dyson struggles in windy Ireland
England's
Simon Dyson slipped back in the Irish Open on Friday, struggling
to cope with gale winds to shoot a 78.
Tied for the lead after the opening day, the Asian Tour member ended
the halfway stage in tied 17th place with a 146 total, five shots
behind new leader and local favourite Padraig Harrington.
Indian star Jyoti Randhawa bounced back from a poor opening round
to shoot a 70 and move up to 17th place alongside Dyson.
James Kingston of South Africa was further back in tied 25th place
after a 78 while Yang Yong-eun of Korea carded a 77 for a share
of 43rd position. A 74 by India's Shiv Kapur put him into the weekend
rounds right on the button but compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh, last
year's number one on the UBS Order of Merit, and Singaporean Mardan
Mamat missed the cut.
In Japan, Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng and Frankie Minoza of the
Philippines completed the first round of the weather disrupted Munsingwear
Open KBS Cup in 68s to lie four off the lead held by Toru Taniguchi.
Lin Keng-chin of Chinese Taipei was a shot back.
On the US PGA Tour, Korea's Kevin Na carded a second round 73 to
make the halfway cut in the AT&T Classic. Arjun Atwal of India,
Korea's Charlie Wi, Daniel Chopra of Sweden and American Edward
Loar missed the cut.
