Clariden Leu to sponsor Singapore Masters

The Swiss private Bank, Clariden Leu, today officially announced its title sponsorship for the Singapore Masters 2007.

The golf tournament will be held at Laguna National Golf and Country Club from March 8-11. A leading private bank with Swiss roots and an international presence, Clariden Leu is the result of a recent merger of five Credit Suisse Group companies. Following the merger, Clariden Leu is now one of the five largest providers of private banking services in Switzerland with a combined private banking experience of 519 years.

The opportunity to sponsor a golf tournament such as the Singapore Masters supports Clariden Leu’s mission to foster and strengthen relationships with their existing clients and prospects. This sponsorship also underlines Clariden Leu's strong commitment to Asia which it considers to be one of its key markets.

Mr. Urs Brutsch, Branch Manager of Clariden Leu, Singapore commented, "The Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007 is a major Asian event with a reputation for excellence and success. We are proud to be part of this highly recognised event."

Peter Kwee, Executive Chairman of Laguna National Golf and Country Club and Group Exklusiv said, “We are proud to be part of the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007 and we look forward to a successful partnership with Clariden Leu as well as all the other sponsors of the event.”

Group Exklusiv is the owner of Laguna National Golf and Country Club, The Pines Club, co-owner of Joondalup Country Club and Meadow Spring Golf and Country Club in Perth.

Managing Director of Global One International, Mr. Keld Kristiansen is very excited to welcome Clariden Leu onboard for the Singapore Masters 2007. "We are very pleased to announce that Clariden Leu is our title sponsor for the Singapore Masters. Their support and commitment towards this tournament will be invaluable and we certainly look forward to a mutually successful relationship" said Kristiansen.

The Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007 will feature an exciting line-up of players including Ryder Cup team-mates Darren Clarke and David Howell. Lee Westwood also returns to the Singapore Masters and was part of the winning European team in this year’s Royal Trophy against the Asians. Additional names to the growing list of star players include 2005 winner Nick Dougherty and Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam.

About Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007
The Singapore Masters was established in 2001 and is the only international men’s professional golf tournament held in Singapore. It has regularly attracted some of the world’s finest players, with the 2007 event being no exception. History was made in 2006 when Singapore’s very own Mardan Marmat took the trophy to become the first Singaporean to win on the European Tour. This year’s event will take place from March 8-11. Laguna National Golf and Country Club will host the event for the sixth year on both of their magnificent courses (Masters Course and Classic Course) to complete the first two days of play. The final two rounds will be played on the Masters Course.

Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007 is the only event co-sanctioned by the PGA European Tour and the Asian Tour with the support of the Singapore Professional Golfers Association.
