More about the Tomson Shanghai Pudong course
Tomson
Shanghai Pudong Golf Club was established through public bidding
for leasehold land, a policy of the Shanghai Government to establish
the economic development of Pudong.
Tomson Group, which is involved in the development of the golf course
and housing estate, has invested over US$100 million. In 1993 Tomson
Group commenced construction of the golf course, and in 1997 after
celebrating the opening of the 18-hole golf course, continued with
the construction of the villas around the golf course.
The course designer Mr. Shunsuke Kato, chairman of the Japan Golf
Association, has in his design of Tomson Golf Club combined the
ancient, traditional and modern characteristics from Britain, United
States and Japan.
