With deep recession looming and growing rivarly for control of the professional game in Asia, the Asian Tour announced a $42m schedule for 2009 and celebrated its 300th tournament - the 50th UBS Hong Kong Open.
Amid all the uncertainty, only one thing was certain: 2009 would not be an ordinary year.
