Kapur has European top 20 finish
India’s Shiv Kapur enjoyed a top-20 finish at the Italian Open which concluded on Sunday.
The Asian Tour stalwart produced rounds of 70, 65, 70 and 69 for a 14-under-par 274 total to earn tied 17th place, 11 shots behind winner Hennie Otto of South Africa.
Australian Scott Barr, who is a regular on the Asian Tour, finished a further stroke back after rounds of 70, 69, 65 and 71.
In The Players Championship in the United States, Korea’s Charlie Wi endured a difficult final round 82 as he slipped from his overnight 14th place to tied 63rd. He had shot earlier rounds of 74, 73 and 69 to give himself a chance of a strong finish in the unofficial fifth major of the world, finally claimed by Sergio Garcia in a playoff with Paul Goydos.
