Strange moves up in Abu Dhabi
Australia’s Scott Strange blasted a steady six-under-par 66 to rise up to joint sixth position at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on Saturday.
Strange, who won the 2006 Philippine Open, fired a bogey free round with six birdies and produced a three-day total of seven-under-par 209. He was 10 strokes behind leader Martin Kaymer in the third round.
South African James Kingston slipped to joint 15th place when he was even-par for the day while Thai stalwart Thongchai Jaidee posted a 68 to lie in tied 29th spot. Compatriot Chapchai Nirat carded a 73 and was among those in joint 61st position.
In United States, Yang Yong-eun and Kevin Na of Korea shot matching 69s and were in a tie for 35th position in the third round at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Compatriot Charlie Wi improved with a 67 also in joint 35th position.
American Justin Leonard took the sole lead after a 66 for a 265 total.
