Haig and Randhawa in contention at Qatar halfway

South African Anton Haig slipped out of the lead in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters on Friday but remained in contention after a second round one-inder-par 71.

The Asian Tour stalwart, third on the Order of Merit last season, is three shots behind new leader Johan Edfors of Sweden heading into the weekend rounds.

India’s Jyoti Randhawa stayed in contention with a second straight 70 to lie five off the pace while countryman Shiv Kapur fired a 68 to lie a further stroke back alongside Thai star Thongchai Jaidee, who carded a 71.

In the US, Korea’s Jin Park made the cut right at the halfway mark at the Buick Open with a second round 73. Tiger Woods leads the event by four shots.
