Haig and Randhawa in top ten Qatar finish

Leading Asian Tour stalwarts, Anton Haig of South Africa and India’s Joyti Randhawa posted matching 278s at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters to end their campaign in joint seventh place on Sunday.

Haig, who finished third on the Asian Tour Order of Merit last season, shot a one-under-par 71 to give him a 10-under par 278 total while Jyoti recorded his best score of the tournament with a 66 on the final day to share seventh place with France’s Cevaer Christian, England’s David Howell and Lee Westwood, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie and Spain’s Sergio Garcia.

Two-time Asian Tour number one, Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand finish in 25th place on 281. India’s Shiv Kapur, who began the day in joint 51st place battled to a 284 for a share of the 47th place at the US$2.5 million event, which was won by Adam Scott from Australia with a brilliant final round 61.

At the Buick Invitational in the US, Korea’s Jin Park carded a 76 in the final round to finish on a 292 total. World number one Tiger Woods finished at 18-under 270 to win the title for the fourth consecutive year.

In the Movistar Panama Championship, Arjun Atwal of India let slip a victory when he finished tied second in the Nationwide Tour event. Atwal, Asia's number one in 2003, was the third round leader but closed with a 74 to finish one behind champion Scott Dunlap. Australian Jarrod Lyle finished tied sixth.
