Dyson qualifies for Open - Rodgers, Brown and Jeev miss out
Asian Tour member Chris Rodgers narrowly missed out on a place in the British Open when he lost in a play-off at the International Final Qualifying Europe at Sunningdale on Monday.
The Englishman was part of a six-way play-off for two berths after shooting cards of 70 and 66. Former Asian number one Simon Dyson was one of the players who qualified from the play-off.
New Zealand’s Mark Brown, currently leading the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit, missed out on a play-off spot after rounds of 71 and 66 while India’s Jeev Milkha Singh was two off the play-off after cards of 68 and 70.
In the United States, Australian Scott Hend shot rounds of 71 and 71 to miss out by three shots while Iain Steel lost in a play-off in Michigan after he earned a play-off spot with a second round 63. He was in a five-way fight for four tickets to the Open.
