Next week's Royal Trophy between Asia and holders Europe has been postponed because of the death of Thai Princess Galyani Vadhana.
The third edition of the team event will be played at a later date, the European Tour said in a news release on Thursday.
The Thai government announced a 15-day period of mourning and asked that festive activities be suspended during this time as a mark of respect, after the 84-year-old princess, the elder sister of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, passed away on January 2 after receiving treatment for abdominal cancer in the hospital for the last six months.
The Royal Trophy, which was donated by the king, had been due to take place in Chon Buri province east of Bangkok from Jan. 11-13.
