 Event Preview

Designed by Perry O. Dye, Woo Jeong Hills Country Club is a sight to behold for the nature lovers and golf enthusiasts alike. It is a beautiful course with 12 eye-catching lakes that allow for cross hazards, with the highlight on the island green at the 13th hole.

Players will get to enjoy the hillside view while playing on the first nine with the closing nine tracking through the valley. Korean Park No-seok won the Philip Morris Asia Cup in 1997, which was one of the first big events hosted by the club since the opening four years before.

But beneath the beauty of the course lies the tough course conditions. The course serves up as a challenge even to the best of players. A reflection of the tough conditions was during the 2004 Korea Open when American Edward Loar secured his win with a total of two-under-par 286. He was the only player to score an under-par after four days. Runner-up Simon Yates of Scotland was one-over while South Africa's Ernie Els finished four strokes adrift in third place.
