More about the Dragon Lake Golf Club

The Guangzhou Dragon Lake Golf Club is situated in the Dragon Lake International Village in the town of Beixing, Huadu District, Guangzhou. The Village is back-dropped by a lush mountain range that stretches tens of kilometers and is surrounded by the Dragon Lake.

Uninhabited and uncontaminated, the lake covers an area of 42 square kilometers, while the Village features fresh air, a pleasant climate and abundant sunshine. Its average temperature is 3-5 degrees lower than that of steamy downtown Guangzhou.

The Club is 30 minutes' drive from the inner express road of Guangzhou and 15 minutes' drive from the new International Airport. Once it is completed, it will become the only 45-hole golf club in the city. The first phase of the 18-hole course has been open for business since May 2004.

The Dragon Lake Course, Guangzhou

The golf course is delineated with mountains, forests, lakes and lush grassland and offers an unforgettable experience. The design of the course cleverly integrates the natural conditions of the valleys and the mountains, and features a theme of 'back to nature'. The combination of the picturesque landscape and a golf course fully immersed with the natural environment provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, while allowing you to swing to your heart's content.

The Club offers a comprehensive range of recreational facilities. With a customer-oriented management philosophy and excellent customer care, making visitors feel honoured and respected.

As the first phase of the Club, the 18-hole championship course is of international standard and covers an area of 1,760 hectares. The design of the fairways follows the natural topography of the area and integrates fully the valleys into the entire course. One half of the landscape is made up of the lake and the other half with mountains. The front nine holes preserve the original topography and the lush lychee forest and have a natural lake as their backdrop. You can not only appreciate the natural wonder of the lake, but may also be able to pick lychee off the trees during the harvest season. The second nine has a mountain range as its backdrop and features a hilly forest. The fairway stretches across the hills and the valleys, which makes it highly challenging. The 16th hole is arguably the masterpiece of the course - players are often in awe when a shot descends 20 metres from the green above.

The holes of the course are all very special and appeal to players of all levels. It is not only fun, but very competitive. In the words of the most famous Chinese golfer, Zhang Lianwei, "the first nine holes have a lot of open space and can be used for a competition, whereas the last nine holes, though difficult for amateurs, will leave them with an unforgettable experience."
