More about the Royal Johor Country Club
The
Royal Johor Country Club was the first ever golf club to be built
in the Southern most State of Malaysia. It was formerly known as
the Johore Golf Club in February 1968 and changed to Tasek Utara
Golf Club in 1971 with the first nine holes open for play.
The course was completed in 1974 offering a full 18-hole experience.
The club was officially opened by the then Prime Minister, the late
Tun Abdul Razak in 1975. The course was upgraded in 1991/92 and
re-designed by Max Wexler to include more water hazards and bunkers.
The course is known to be very challenging yet scenic with mature
trees and wide fairways. The jungle surrounding has been preserved
which adds to the natural surrounding when teeing off. The undulating
terrain offers a true test of golf with the big hitters having an
added advantage. The back nine is deemed as the tougher half of
the course but accuracy on the greens is vital throughout the 18
holes.
The Royal Johor Country Club offers top class facilities such as
a driving range and a putting green. Golfers will also get to unwind
at the swimming pools, gymnasium and at the restaurants and a bar
and lounge located on site.
