About the Phokeethra Country Club Course
His Excellency Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen presided over the Grand Opening ceremony of Phokeethra Country Club in April this year.
Phokeethra Country Club Siem Reap is under the management of Sofitel Phokeethra Royal Angkor Golf and Spa Resort. The name “Phokeethra”, derived from Sansakrit words Bhogi, the powerful Phya Naga serpent spirit and Dhara meaning a large city.
The Phokeethra Country Club is rich in history. Within its grounds stands the magnificent ancient “Roluh” bridge dating back to a Khmer expire in the 11th Century AD and older than the famous “Angkor Wat”. The bridge represents the link between the past and the present day.
The Phokeethra Country Club will serve as the host of the inaugural 2007 Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open, Asian Tour’s first ever event in Cambodia.
