Macau Open reduced to 54 holes

The Macau Open has been reduced to a 54-hole tournament following unrelenting rain at Macau Golf and Country Club.

The Asian Tour announced this morning that the suspended third round will now be the final round and it was hopeful of restarting the tournament at 1.40pm.

Play was suspended on Saturday at 1.40pm and subsequently called off for the day. Heavy rain this morning meant that players have not been able to recommence their rounds.

India's Gaurav Ghei is leading the tournament by two strokes on 11-under-par through 11 holes of his third round, followed by Chinese Taipei's Lu Wen-teh, Australian Richard Moir and China's Liang Wen-chong.

Leading third round scores:

-11: Gaurav GHEI (IND) thru 11 holes

-9: LU Wen-teh (TPE) thru 12

-9: Richard MOIR (AUS) thru 11

-9: LIANG Wen-chong (CHN) thru 14

-8: Thaworn WIRATCHANT (THA) thru 15

-7: Kane WEBBER (AUS) thru 15
