About the Tianan Golf Club course
A new 27-hole layout conveniently located in the Chaoyuang District close to both Beijing city centre and the airport, Tianan Golf Club is closely linked to Cheng Jun. The General Manager of the Board is famous for becoming the first Chinese golfer to win an international tournament when he triumphed in the 1997 Volvo China Open.
Forced by the shortage of opportunities for professional tournament golfers in China back then, Cheng found himself forced to look for opportunities in the golf business rather than concentrate on his playing career.
However, having been invited by chairman Song Qi to join the group investing in the Tianan course, Cheng has proved very supportive of his fellow professionals. As well as backing Omega China Tour players Ryan Huang Yonghuan, Zhang Meng and Zheng Shaoguang, Cheng was also very quick to encourage his club to support the tour too.
In doing so, he gives his fellow professionals a chance to see the fruits of his labours: a course carved out of the relatively flat countryside around Beijing that has been enhanced with lakes, rolling topography and strategic bunkering, all dressed with an array of trees and brushes to create a yearlong natural beauty.
