About the Course
The course for the 2007 Omega Mission Hills World Cup carries the famous Olazabal signature where Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal sculpted the 7,251 yards masterpiece in China. It is the longest of the Mission Hills courses.
The rolling terrains are enhanced in Olazabal’s design where many of the tee boxes are elevated and even the greens are also perched on elevated positions. There is prominent bunkering which will require players to be at their accurate best.
The par fives are reachable in two while the finishing par four 18th hole, which has water stretching all the way from the tee box to the green, will prove to be a testing closing hole. The 18th has been regarded as the most difficult finishing hole in the entire Mission Hills complex, which boasts 12 courses – the largest in the world.
Numerous majestic vistas of untouched jungle and natural flowing streams create outstanding backdrops throughout the golf course. The signature square tees, along with undulating concave paspalum fairways, are two distinguishing features of this true championship course.
The sand bunkers contain numerous contoured fingers, thick grassy vertical lips and deep 'bowled' bottoms, which are sure to attract the attention of golfers as each shot is played. Golfers will often be faced with an option on how to play each hole - take the safe and conservative route, or the risk/reward route that may result in anything from an eagle to a double bogey.
