Event Preview - Four to watch this week

Liang Wen-chong
China’s Liang Wen-chong is in hot pursuit to become China’s first ever Asian Tour’s UBS Order of Merit champion and will be determined to cement his position at the top of the rankings this week. With the end of the year fast approaching, Liang will be eager to notch get off on a right note this week as he faces off with Anton Haig and Scott Hend at the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational.

Chapchai Nirat
Chapchai enjoyed his maiden breakthrough this year and is currently ranked fourth on the UBS Order of Merit. He produced his sixth top-10 this season in India last week and is in fine form heading into Jakarta. With a steady drive and a goal to close the gap with Liang, Chapchai will be among the top contenders for this week’s tournament.

Simon Yates
Simon Yates has found the right swing to his game and is enjoying a good spell this year. He played in 14 events this season and is ranked fifth on the rankings. Playing on a course that requires solid drives and approach shots, Yates will be tipped to stay among the frontrunners this week.

Thaworn Wiratchant
Thaworn created history by becoming the first ever player to win nine titles on the Asian Tour when he lifted the Midea China Classic last month. Playing in a country where he had tasted success before in 2005, Thaworn will be riding on his rejuvenated form to see him through a strong finish this season.
