About the Orient (Xiamen) Golf & Country Club
Covering
a total area of 246 hectares between the ocean and the mountains
and only 10 minutes from downtown Xiamen is the Orient (Xiamen)
Golf & Country Club, venue of the first Asian PGA tournament
held in China.
Designed by renowned American architect Ronald Fream, a specialist
in sustainable golf development, and operated by Orient, the club
is one of only two Chinese clubs to have earned the USGA's distinction
of selection among the 100 Finest Golf Clubs of the World.
The course is internationally known through tournament broadcasts
over ESPN and StarTV Sports across the world. It is also currently
the only golf course in the province of Fujian to have illuminated
night golf.
Backed by mountains and facing the sea, the Orient Golf & Country
Club commands an air of "five dragons seizing a bead",
integrating the vast sea, the sound of tides, golden sand, ancient
caves, strange stones and famous trees.
In the classic mould of American master of design Ronald Fream,
it embodies the perfect combination of natural scenic beauty and
professional ideas. Numerous water hazards make it imperative that
you stay on the fairways of this 7,074-yard course.
