About the Dragon Lake Course

The Guangzhou Dragon Lake Golf Club is situated in the Dragon Lake Village, Huadong Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, where you can find a European-style town, hotels, villas and children's amusement park in an ingenious mix of business, sports, leisure, vacationing, tourist and recreational functions.

The Village is back-dropped by a lush mountain range that stretches tens of kilometers and surrounded by the picturesque Dragon Lake. The 2.5-square-kilometer lake surface and 40-square-kilometer catchments area offer rich vegetation, fresh air, pleasant climate and an average air temperature of 3-5 degrees centigrade lower than that of downtown Guangzhou.

The course has an 18-hole international championship standard course and a 9-hole illuminated course. Embraced by the hills, the whole course is covered by luxuriant trees and grasses, and the fairways stretch across the hills and the lake.

The 27 fairways adapt well to the natural landform and embody a return to nature. Designed and built in strict accordance with international standards, the whole course is incorporated cleverly into the natural lake and valley. Thus, a lake course, a mountain course and a new 9-hole illuminated course with a mix of the former two courses have been created

The first 18 holes features the landscape made up of one half lake and the other half hills. The course preserves the original topography and the lush litchi forest and has a natural lake as its backdrop.

The 9-hole illuminated course was designed as the most technically advanced and challenging illuminated course in Southern China, it employs the state-of-the-art illumination system that overcomes the common weaknesses of light scattering and glare found in most domestic illuminated courses. When dusk comes, tens of lamps cast soft beams of light on the whole course, creating a wonderful and mysterious atmosphere.

The Scottish-style clubhouse backs on the hills and faces the whole course. It is so perfectly combined with the natural surroundings that it provides a distinctive scene. With a total area of over 4,000 square meters, the 2-storied clubhouse is provided with arched sightseeing balconies and large floor glass windows to introduce the full view of the course.
