Adam Scott claimed the US$1.2m. Australian Open by five shots over Stuart Appleby after a tense final round at the NSW Golf Club. Leading by seven shots after 12 holes, Scott opened the door for Appleby with bogeys at 13, 14 and 16, but held his nerve with a par-3 at the 17th before finishing with a birdie to seal his first professional victory on home soil.
