Reviews
Although a reasonably flat course, it has many raised tees, which, when the wind blows, as it often does, can play havoc with tee shots. Only the 13th, 14th and 16th have fairway bunkers, but all the greens are protected by bunkers, with the 2nd, 5th and 8th especially well protected. The 14th is stroke index one, primarily because it is a straight 417 yard par four, with a raised tee, that usually plays directly in to a strong breeze, at best. The 16th, since a recent redesign (the tee has been moved back some 60 yards and raised), now plays just as hard, if not harder. The signature hole is the 12th, as good a hole as you will find anywhere. A par 5 from the white tees, it doglegs first left and then right, some 463 yards, to a green virtually completely surrounded by water. It can be reached in 2 off the whites, but only with a precise and long drive, over the trees on the left. Off the yellows it is an even harder par 4, 408 yards with only a right dogleg to the same island green. Over the last few months, head greenkeeper Luke Vesely, has narrowed and contoured the fairways and grown the rough, making the course a much tougher proposition than it was previously. The only really easy hole is the 15th, which is a short 262 yard par 4, with only one front and one back bunker. All in all a fair test for all levels and worth the green fee for the 12th alone.
