This is a 9 hole alongside a boating lake. It's squeezed into the parkland
and pleasantly surprising. All but two of the holes are Par 4's with a 5
and a final par 3 to mix it up. The majority of the holes are forgiving with a
very up and down nature to the course. Obstacles are the odd tree and a few lakes/ponds,
but you'd have to shank fairly badly to hit them. Greens are of average quality
but I would add the layout isn't clear, especially toward the 6th green. The
approach to the 6th is a nice drop to a green banked by a river, probably my favourite
shot on the course. The clubhouse has the usual bar/big TV combo and looks
pleasant enough and the staff are friendly and helpful. All in all, for
the cost of a round, this is a gem. J April 12, 2005 |
