A splendid combination of links and parkland style golf courses, with water features on 11 of the 18 holes. Mill Ride is an excellent challenge for every standard of Golfer.

The course is in excellent condition, and in particular the greens are very even, fair and 'right' rolling speed. Fairways are cut quite wide at the moment which makes the course relatively easy, and if you make the journey into bushes, even those are well maintained at least making finding the ball reasonably possible. Over-all the course is not playing very long, but does still present a challenge - it is a course for planning/thinking through your ball placements to allow good scoring. A excellent course all together!

New ownership early 2013

I was expecting a great day, but the course was in terrible condition and the staff were not very friendly. If you want to pay this amount of money for a days golf I would go elsewhere.

My experience at Mill Ride is not a good one. I took up what I thought was temporary membership to try the course for 3 months. At the end of the period I decided not to continue, unfortunately they indicated that I had signed for the whole year and that I was due to pay the full fee. They use underhand tactic to sign you up. Be careful if you are considering joining. There is lots of small print so please take time to read it fully. Ultimately they were not prepared to discuss the matter and enforced the contract via court proceedings. They course is OKish but their business ethics are terrible. If you are considering joining make sure you want to join for the entire period. I have learnt a serious and expensive lesson.

A course that after a much needed change of ownership and Head Greenkeeper has come on leaps and bounds with possibly the best greens around right now. One for the MUST PLAY list!!!
