Course Reviews

The 18 hole course is very enjoyable and good value for money. The Manor and Church courses are brilliant for beginners and juniors, and at low prices, I would recommend them to anyone who has just started playing golf. Other facilities such as the par 3 course, driving range and ten-pin bowling are also good fun.

Very well kept course, lots of variation to the holes, interesting for golfers of all abilities, as most holes offer safe routes as well as more hazardous but better scoring shots.

I had not played at Lakeside for some time even though I live quite localy. I was looking forward to playing at what has always been a good test of golf. How disapointed I was.
I did not enjoy my round at all. We teed off at 1435 and walked off the 18th at 1943 just over 5 hours for 1 round of golf. We finally found out what was holding the whole course up a 5 ball on the 17th whilst my group were teeing off on the 14th.
We were kept waiting on every tee sometimes there were up to 4 groups waiting on the tee. I made a complaint to the attendant in the pro shop who told me that it was not his fault but that of the owner, who did nothing about customer complaints, how could he do anything about slow play when he was the only member of staff in the shop...
To cap it all I wanted something to eat at the clubhouse when I finally finished my 5 hours on the course only to be told that there would be no more food served that night, it was only 8 o' clock. My advice Don't play at Lakeside Lodge you will be wasting your time hoping to have a good round.
I know this is a pay and play course but there are other pay and play courses in the area but the difference is that they are managed and this course is not!

I am a novice golfer and I was recomended to Lakeside about 3 months ago. I think that it is a fantastic place to learn golf, the staff are very friendly and very informative.
On the course that I was playing (the Manor)i also had to wait for other people in front of me who were just beginning to play golf but I didn't mind or moan because it's a pay and play course, if you want the course to yourself then go early in the morning or go to a private course.
People who moan about people on the course in front should try going at different times of the day or get off the course and go and moan elsewere.
