I cut my teeth on this course and still have an affection
for it. Relatively short and flat, the course is flattering
to your handicap. However don't be too greedy or it'll bite
back. A par 4 dogleg right is reachable in 1 if you cut the
corner over the woods. Go on I dare you!!

Hillside heathland course on the edge of the pennines with
excellent views across the Cheshire Plain on a fine day. A
nice course offering a fair challenge to golfers of all abilities.

The views from the course are excellent (fog allowing) and
the standard of the greens and fairways is high. As a visitor
it was a little discouraging to have to pay £30 to play
on the weekend (Nov 2001), but I understand member's rates
are good value. Temporary greens are kept to a minimum which
is preferable as they were difficult to work with in early
October. However, we were disappointed to be asked to pick
our balls off the fairway and play them off small pieces of
'astroturf' (18"x4") we were given. As we had never done so
before we felt this was an enormous handicap. I'm not sure
why this method of protecting the greens is preferred over
teeing the ball up on the fairway but it interfered with an
enjoyable round. I would be unable to recommend the course
to others as long as this method is still in practice.

This is a testing course in terms of lung capacity with the
uphill climbs but dont let this put you off what is a cracking
course.
The views over the hills are tremendous and add a natural
feel to the course.

What a great course. Very good test with narrow fairways,
lots of bunkers and water hazards. A course you need to think
around. The greens are some of the best you'll play on. Highly
recommended.
