I had the pleasure of playing this course last september(2004) one
of the more scenic courses you will play, great lakes, canals, swans, ducks, and
all this on an old landfill site.
the course itself is not particularly difficult but it does
have a tremendous island hole on the 17th its completely surrounded
by water(par 3)just needs a couple more years to bed in as
its still a new course and a little more care on the greens
will make this a championship course in about 5 or 10 years.
friendly bar staff and excellent meals at a reasonable price
too. Ian Silcock April 11, 2005
I'm afraid I disagree with Ian's comments. Firstly, it's
not an easy course. There are numerous water hazards as well
as other obstacles designed to spoil your scorecard. Secondly,
I played on this course just the other day and I think the
greens are absolutely immaculate and was extremely impressed
by them. Thirdly, the course it quite picturesque in places
but the massive electricity pylons dotted throughout the course
spoil the overall feel for me. Finally, the course IS a Championship
course and will be hosting a PGA EuroPro Tour Event between
30/08/05 and 02/09/05.
One point I must absolutely agree with Ian on is that the
17th hole, the island one, is an absolute delight to play. Darren June 5, 2005
I played the course about a week ago and for a course so
young it was playing so well. It was in first class condition
with a great layout and five of six outstanding holes and
if i lived closer to the club i would bit their hands off
for a membership that are only £550!!!(Give the course
5 more years it wiil be one of the leading courses in the
north). Tim Picken June 19, 2005
