Mottram Hall Hotel is a "resort" establishment that caters for mainly Corporate Events. It has a large commitment to the big event, so as an individual or small group (2-4) you can get lost in the system. The GOLF is no different so if you are to play as a small group you certainly need to ensure that you book ahead, and enquire as to the number of societies out on the course the day you play as this will have a great affect on the pace of play, and will "knock on" to lunch and evening meal. As for the Course itself then there is nothing spectacular about the layout, but it is a neat track which allows for a relatively easy round when played from the Yellow Tees (6,300 yards) Played from the White Comp Tees then the length is 7,000 a totally different proposition.
Wide fairways allow for big drives, and on the day I played the greens were receptive (March 2015) Certainly an enjoyable 18 holes and suitable for most regular players who play off 5-18 handicap. For the sub 5 handicapper playing off the Yellow Tees should be a breeze.

A group of four played there 15th October. We found the course to be very enjoyable although the greens had been hollow tined.( the green fee was reduced). The one thing that spoilt the afternoon is that being a corporate venue they let any standard of golfer on the course. This resulted in buggies being run right next to the greens and balls flying every where. You will have to accept this if you want to play what is a good course.

The best municipal I have played. The 4th and the 8th should really be 5's but only because that would have given me a round of 4 over instead of 6! I really enjoyed it.
