Not a long course but you need to be accurate.

Playing the front nine you need to be a good putter and have a tidy short game. The greens are small with lots of slopes and had some interesting pin placements.

The back nine encourages you to"have a go" but penalises you if your not accurate

The course is an ideal Members course in an interesting location amongst some lovely houses, and was in very good condition

Really good value for money

As a member of another nearby golf club,i played in the Tony Lea Junior open at upton about a month ago. The course had come on leps and bounds since the last time i had played it,with the fairways being in particular good condition, and therefore making the course look much more presentable than it did on my first visit (winter 2002). Even though the greens have just been re-layed, they still leave a lot to be desired, with their receptiveness being almost non existant, along with the fact that they are fairly slow in pace, although being very true. However, i do feel that this course will mature along with its new greens, and will go on to become a true test of parkland golf for all abilities.

A short but tight 18 hole course. Plenty of bunkers and trees to catch you out. If you stay on the fairway you will have no trouble. Greens tricky and a bit slopy but very true. Overall a good test of short game and consistency.
