About the Courses The golf course, constructed to a high standard and with sand based greens is laid out in three loops of 9 holes which all start and finish at the clubhouse, this enables different combinations of 18 holes to be played. Free draining soil and sand based greens ensure they are playable throughout the year. There are several large lakes which gives the course a mature look beyond its years.
Course Reviews This course expanded a couple of years ago and now has 27 holes. (3 nines of course). The new 9 holes comprise only 1 of the original course designed holes. A test for all golfers with some short but tricky par 3's and some testing ball positioning required, par 5's. Don't miss a fairway on any of the nine holes. With water visible from most tee boxes, ditches at driving distances and deep testing rough there is a premium to be had for staying on the fairway. Only then can you score well.

I travelled down to Garon Park with my Dad during the recent bad spell of wet weather on recommendation from a client that the course would be open, playable and definitely without temporary Greens, which are a particular pet hate of mine. The Club Professional confirmed that the course was open when I phoned the Club to book a Tee Time, and having never played there before I was pleased at how easy it was to find. All of the courses in my area (Romford) were either shut or had temporary Greens, so I was amazed to see the excellent condition of those at Garon Park. Infact the Greens which are slightly raised were dry, flat and of a good speed. We played the A & B courses (3 x 9s) and were pleasantly surprised that the fairways were very playable and nicely shaped. I am a 12-handicapper and found the course to be an excellent challenge, especially when playing some of the Par-3s into the stiff breeze. After losing once again to my Dad, we had a pleasant lunch in the welcoming clubhouse where the staff were friendly and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back to Garon Park, this time with a small group in the spring, but I can honestly say that we haven't played a better or more challenging winter course.
