What a great pleasure to play this unknown nine hole course. Great greens, fantastic views set in Epping Forrest. Look forward to going back and seeing the new layout planned. Bill Lague February 3, 2009
After playing at Hainault Forest (Upper Course) I was still looking for a a bit more practice time and only wanted to play 9 holes. A local taxi driver recommended this course to me and I went down there on my own to hit a few more strokes.
The guy running the place asked another two people if it would be ok if I played with them.
The two guys were very kind and let me hang out with them on the course.
My honest opinion was that this course was utterly amazing.
It is very hilly, lots of potential hazzards and you could loose balls if you are not a great player. My advice if you are new to golf, don't use your driver on every tee. You need a lot of good strokes to get round there on par (it is the tightest course I have played) compared to most other courses the par 4 would probably be a par 5 somewhere else, but this adds to the excitement.
I needed to really master it (must be my celtic side) and will need to revisit soon. I loved every minute playing and will be back soon.
WARNING - walking up a steep hill with your clubs is not everyone's idea of fun, however when you get to the top and look down you will be amazed.
If you are a recreational golfer i.e. you like sunshine, golf buggies and satelite navigation then this course is not for you.
If you love golf, want to learn to play better and you are up for playing a hard, but very enjoyable course then this is the place to be.
You can also hire out a trolly if you prefer.
Another thing to know is that it is only a 9 hole course.
You can pay for 18 holes but you will be visiting each hole twice). Stewart McFarlane August 29, 2006
I normally stay away from 9 hole courses, but this course is fantastic, the greens are great 10/10. The course is challenging but very rewarding. Some of the views are the best I've seen, the holes play a bit longer than on the card. As a visitor I was pleasantly supprised, I left the course with a smile on my face, even though it was raining all day. Patrick Robinson May 30, 2006
Absolutely fabulous golf course, 9 holes of varied difficulties, I play there regularly. Situated in a valley, makes it more challenging. Will defiantly recommend. 10/10 Tom July 4, 2005
